Established Behavior, also called an Established Response
When we speak of a response as having been established, we simply mean that our subject has been engaging in that behavior long enough for it to have become a practiced, well-integrated part of his life.
The better established a given response becomes, the more resilient it will be and the more difficult it will be to get it stopped, if you should need to do so.
