Behavior

The term behavior simply refers to anything your subject does. Therefore, if your subject is your dog and you are trying to get him to refrain from growling at the mailman, then, we say you are dealing with your dog's growling behavior. If he is chasing a cat, then, we speak of his chasing behavior, etc. So when we speak of the behavior, we are just referring to whatever it is your dog is doing. If he is doing it and you are focused on it, then, it is labeled as the behavior.

The term behavior and the term response are synonymous, and can be used interchangeably.
