The Command to Stand

If you call your dog's name in your command voice and follow his name with the word stand - (Fido, stand!) - you will have transformed those words into a command that indicates to your dog that he is to:

  1. Immediately rise to his feet.
  2. Remain in place in that posture while he waits for you to give him further instructions.
