Commanding Your Dog to Lie Down

If you call your dog's name in your command voice and follow his name with the word down - (Fido, down!) - you will have transformed those words into a command that indicates to your dog that he is to:

  1. Lie down immediately in the prone position and
  2. remain in that posture until he receives further instructions.
