Accidental Training

Sometimes, the way you interact with your dog can create unintended consequences. For example, by feeding your dog table scraps while you eat dinner, you will cause him to beg for handouts in the future, even though teaching your dog to pester you through every minute of every meal for the rest of his life was not your goal on that first occasion when you fed him from the table.

It is extremely common for people to unintentionally teach their dogs to do things that they do not want them to do.

Teaching your dog to do something without meaning to is known as accidental training.
